I could order elsewhere with free shipping and get it much sooner. In this age of on demand shipping and logistics it should not take +2 MONTHS to receive items, especially when I paid an extraordinary amount in shipping. I talked to a representative and it's waiting on a slipcover. Long story short, my delivery date keeps getting changed on the day it's supposed to be delivered or the day prior! No customer service notice or explanation, no email updating delivery, just a date change when I log in to check the status. Longer than any item I've ever ordered, including mattresses and I was charged +$400 in shipping- which almost made me not purchase the items, but my daughter loved the design. The original delivery period was 27 July-5 August. We're fans.WARNING!!! I will not order from or recommend Pottery Barn again! STAY AWAY!! If you want to see, touch, feel and experience excellence in both products and presentation, and the way you're treated, the Pottery Barn on Chestnut delivers. Austin printed out an estimate of the products we were interested in purchasing before we left. We spent some time looking at images on the Design Center computer. Austin answered every question to our satisfaction without hesitation. The questions we asked required a thorough knowledge of finishes, fabrics, lighting fixtures, sofas, chairs, end tables and lead times. We found out later he was actually Pottery Barn's General Manager.
This time the same young man approached us and a conversation developed. We returned to the Pottery Barn again to check it out in greater detail. Th e following morning I realized that I had forgotten to take a picture of a white sofa we were interested in. He looked awfully young, like maybe he was a college student collecting some extra hours. We didn't ask for help, but noticed a young man moving around the store greeting visitors and making himself available. On our past visit we were looking to refurnish an apartment. After breakfast we'll walk to Pottery Barn to check things out. Pottery Barn is a few doors down from Le Marais, our favorite breakfast spot on Chestnut. I visit Chestnut Street whenever I'm in San Francisco visiting a friend.
